Tree Inspections & Surveys

Over time inspection of your trees may be advisable.

This may be safety related where an area is open to the public or where young children are present; or to check on current condition and identify possible future problems.

These are best identified and addressed at an early stage. You may simply wish to have your trees correctly identified! We can carry out tree assessments and inspections and where required arrange for BS5837:2012 compliant surveys to be undertaken.

We can provide a simple written report containing basic tree details or full arboricultural or tree surveys which are similar but much more in-depth and are typically applied to single trees.

Why do I need to have a survey done?

Tree owners have a duty to ensure they have taken reasonable steps to ensure the safety of their trees. Early consultation is the best way to avoid costly mistakes and delays.

The British Standard (BS5837:2012) means that where a tree or trees are likely to be affected by a planned build, extension or demolition an assessment report conforming to the requirements of the BS5837:2012 has to be produced outlining specific criteria about the tree or trees, their management, viability and protection throughout construction / demolition. We can arrange surveys for you to meet all required standards.

Limitations of your tree survey

Our assessments are based on professional experience and expert observation at the time of the inspection. No liability can be assumed to rest with MMS Tree Services should conditions alter after our inspection.

Prior to the implementation of any works we strongly recommend that the local authority be consulted to obtain any necessary consent.
